It is in the Archean Swayze Greenstone Belt which is a part of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt which hosts the world class Timmins and Kirkland Lake lode gold mining camps. Work by MPH Ventures Ltd. in 2009 and 2010 consisted of trenching and sampling, Induced Polarization (IP) surveys, followed by drilling. MPH Ventures completed four separate phases of drilling on the Raney Project between early 2009 and early 2010 with highlight hole R-09-08 returning 6.5 g/t Au over 8.0 metres. The presence of a gold system as identified on the Raney Gold Project would suggest that the remainder of the project should be explored for additional gold structures as well.
